Bio
Dr. Judy Kuriansky is a Fellow of the American Psychoogical Association and long-time member of Division 32 and liaison to CIRP. A clinical psychologist at Columbia University Teachers College, she is a humanitarian who is an NGO representative at the United Nations for the International Association of Applied Psychology and the World Council of Psychotherapy. She has provided psychological first aide after many disasters, including after 9’11 at Ground Zero and the Family Assistance Center, Hurricane Katrina, the Asian tsunami, and earthquakes in Haiti and China and the tsunami/earthquake in Japan. She has spent over 10 years doing trainings in Asia. On the Borad of U.S. Doctors for Africa, she has co-developed empowerment program for girls in Lesotho, Africa, and done workshops for youth and adults worldwide including in India and Tanzania. An award winning journalist, she has been a radio talk show host and television commentator for decades, and columnist for the South China Morning Poist, the Singapore Straits Times, the Huffington Post and many others. Her many books are published in Chinese, Japanese, and many other lanaguages. She founded the Global Kids Connect Project and the Stand Up for Preace project that does symposia and charity concerts around the world. Her many awards include the Humanitarian Award for Lifetime Achievement in Global Peace and Tolerance from the Friends of the UN and awards for her work in China. Her website is www.DrJudy.com.
